Clan Galbraith traces its origin to Gilchrist Bretnach, considered the first chief, who married into the Lennox family. Sir William Galbraith, 4th chief, became co-Regent of Scotland in 1255 after opposing the powerful Comyn family. His son Sir Arthur Galbraith supported Robert the Bruce and allied with the Douglases. In 1320, a Galbraith branch held Culcreuch Castle, which later became the clan seat. The 15th-century chiefs joined rebellions, leading to exile and the use of the Gaelic name MacBhreatneaich. The clan's downfall came in the 16th century under Robert Galbraith, 17th chief, due to internal conflict and disputes with MacAulay and Colquhoun clans. Culcreuch Castle was lost in 1622, and the direct line ended soon after.

The Galbraith clan tartan, also known as Russell, Mitchell, or Hunter, reflects the clan’s deep roots. The clan crest features a muzzled bear’s head with the Latin motto "Ab Obice Suavior", meaning "gentler because of the obstruction." Today, members of Clan Galbraith show heritage through tartan and crest, though most bearers of the name have no clan allegiance.

The Galbraith Ancient Tartan Kilt represents the historic pride of Clan Galbraith, featuring the original tones of the ancient tartan pattern. Made from high-quality acrylic wool, this traditional Scottish kilt offers comfort, durability, and a classic Highland appearance.

Designed with deep knife pleats, adjustable leather straps, and rust-free buckles, it ensures a secure and stylish fit. Ideal for Highland games, clan gatherings, or formal occasions, the Galbraith Ancient Tartan Kilt is a timeless garment that celebrates authentic Scottish heritage.
