Clan Fraser likely originated in Anjou, France, around the 11th century. The surname may come from the French word Fresel, meaning ribbon merchant, or be linked to the Old French fraise (strawberry), seen in clan symbols. Early Frasers appeared in Scotland by the 12th century, including Simon Fraser of Keith and Gilbert Fraser.

During the Wars of Independence, Sir Simon Fraser supported Robert the Bruce but was executed in 1306. His cousin Alexander Fraser, Bruce’s chamberlain, married Bruce’s sister and became the ancestor of the Frasers of Philorth. The family acquired Cairnbulg Castle and founded Fraserburgh.

The Frasers of Philorth became Lords Saltoun. They fought at Worcester (1651) and Waterloo (1815) and contributed in both Parliament and war. Unlike the Jacobite Lovat Frasers, the Saltoun line stayed loyal to the Crown.

The Fraser Hunting Modern Tartan Kilt is a bold expression of Scottish pride and Highland heritage. Designed in a contemporary take on the traditional hunting tartan, this kilt reflects the enduring strength and identity of Clan Fraser.

Made with high-quality acrylic wool, this kilt ensures comfort, durability, and a refined drape. It features traditional knife pleating at the back, offering full freedom of movement. The adjustable leather straps with rust-free chrome buckles provide a secure and customized fit.
